Life, The Almighty Living God, Lord of the
Universe. The Divine Name attributed to Yesod
and to the Nine of Wands. The Almighty ever-
living one which centers itself in all animate
forms and finds its highest expression in the life
of man. see 80, 1 I, 18, 23, 207, 570, 220, 127,
314,31.
Throughout eternity, with no cessation does the
utterance of the Ruach Elohim the might of El
Shaddai the source of Life; and the Living Soul
Nephesh is the vehicle of that utterance. Note
that in the letters of Nephesh (WDI), Perpetuity
bun], Utterance [Peh], and Ruach Elohim
[Shin] the Fiery Breath of the Eternal Spirit of
Life. Shaddai El Chai refers to Nephesh, or the
Vital Soul and is that same Almighty Ever living
One. It is the center in all animate forms, as well
as in the and life of man. Through countless
generations that Life perpetuates Its utterance by
means of successive generations of human
bodies. It is because of this that Yesod is the
field of renewal through procreation. Shaddai El
Chai is Lord of the Universe, and Holy is His
Name, Blessed be He.
Shaddai El Chai is the source of life, as in the
command "be fruitful and multiply." This
commandment can also be fulfilled be the
generation of children as well as the generation
of something more subtle. The clue is in the
word Yesod (70') because it can be read as
Yod-Sod, or the secret of Yod. Yod is the
Creative Power of the Hand, as well as the
channel for the transmission of Life. Life is
Chaiah, seated in Chokmah, to which Yod
especially pertains. Chaiah is light (Aur,W).
Aur is 207, or 9 x 23. Twenty-three is the
number of ;M1, Chaiah, and 9 is Yesod.
Furthermore Chaiah is in Chokmah and is the
power of Ab the Father. Thus Life and Light are
one; that Light is always pure and always Holy,
and that the extension of Light is its
multiplication through forms. But forms are
manifest in varying degrees, and when it is your
office to bring forth subtle forms, you fail if you
miss your opportunity through the false belief
that in the bringing forth of forms less subtle
there is any essential failure. Failure is the
missing of one's highest possibility. But what
may be failure for you, may be supreme
attainment for you Brother. Wherever Life is
multiplied the giver of increase is Shaddai El
Chai, and nothing that He effects has in it any
loss or evil. Evil are man's judgments, but Life
Itself remains forever good.
The name 'W (3 14) 5N (3 1) 77 (1 8) adds to
363, and this is 11 x 1 1 x 3. Eleven is 7'l& (Od),
and 3 is Gimel. 7'N is the magic power and
Gimel is the beginning of Guph, the body.
Aleph is the Breath, Vav is the Link, Daleth is
the Door of Life and is Nogah also, which gives
the Victory. In Gimel or 3 is Recollection and
Union. Thus the letters of Od speak loud. In
Yesod is all this centered and they who know the
secret of Yod, become the extenders of the
paternal Life and Light. Thus is Yesod called
the Sphere of the Moon. Note also that Key 2,
The Moon, pertains to the letter Gimel, the letter
of Union.
Do not seak the spiritual at the expense of the
body. Do not repudiate that which pertains to
Yesod due to misunderstand of its significance.
