intermediate angle of evil between God and men
arose at the time when the Zoroastrian doctrine
became known amongst the Hebrews. In later
judaism, Satan appears as the prince of evil
spirits (Ephesians 2:2) the opponet fo the
kngdom of God. In Revelations (1 2: 1 O), Satan is
spoken of as 'the accuser,' o ~azqywp. WE
notice the fact that Satan does not appear in any
writings which we believe to have been comosed
before the period when the Jews became familiar
with the Persian faith. For example, we are told
that the Lord, not Satan, hardened Pharaoh's
heart against Israel (Ecodus 7: 13).
When we examine diligently into the use of the
word fbw, in the Old Testament, we alight upon
some remarkable facts. Satan is translated
'adversary' in Numbers 22:22, 32; 1 Samuel
29:4; 2 Samuel 19:22, (23); 1 Kings 5:4 (IS),
1 1 : 14, 23, 25. Consulting these texts we find,
literally, 'an angle of the Lord' is Satan; that
David might become Satan if he went to fight;
That Abishai and Joab were Satanic.. . whilst, if
we turn successively to 2 Samuel 24:1, and 1
Chronicles 2 1 : 1, we recognize that astounding
fact that Satan and Jehovah are identical! Peter,
the rock upon which the Christian church is said
to have been built was designated 'Satan' by the
his master (Matthew 26:23). Jesus teaches his
disciples to pray to their Almighty father
(Matthew 6:13), 'lead us not into temptation;'
whilst James 1 : 13 declares that God tempts no
man. These apparent discrepancies may be
reconciled by comparing Jehovah and Satan to
the Hindu Siva, who is both creator and
destroyer. [Inman, 1942, Vol. 2., pp. 697-6981
This brings keen alertness to the actualities of
personal environment, unusual ability to sense
the reactions and wants of other eople, with a
cordial, tactful manner. The 3' decanate of
Pisces is attributed to the 10 of Cups, or the
power of Malkuth, which is physical existence,
in Briah, the creative thoughts and images. The
influence form Briah in Malkuth, when
misunderstood, results in the misinterpretations
that binds us, and too much reliance on physical
sense reports. When we understand this plane,
the dark antagonist is seen to be the perfect order
of the kingdom. It is here that we must become
aware of our dwelling place in Briah, where all
