These words suggest that personal ignorance
causes the external appearance of things to
become "black" or "sooty". It is actually the
condition of the soul itself. It takes the "forge" of
action to remake the "Iron" of will to reflect the
divine volition, guided by intuition (the High
Priest). It is the divine lightning (Peh) working
through personality (Cheth) to produce a change
in consciousness (Mem).

time when the Philistine remnant shall be
incorporated into the purified Jewish

the Jebusite (inward crushing), and (that of) the
Amorite (outward wringing), and (that of)
Girgashite (continuous gyratory movement)."

substances out of which the universe was
formed. It was regarded as pure upper air, the
residence of the Gods, or creative powers, and
Zeus, Lord of Aether, or Aether itself

meaning a 'Place of ravenous creatures', identical

pleasure and of annihilation was the shut place or
