In addition to these authorities, it is safe to assert that every gentile paper
of importance in the U. S. has at some time extracted from the Salt Lake
paper:;, and commented freely thereon. During the existence of the Kanes-
ville (Iowa) Frontier Guardian, 1849-52, nearly every issue contained articles
explanatory of the dogmas of the church, a few of which I have referred
