VoIP and IP telephony and Communication enabled applications are seen as the most important emerging technologies for government organization to consider. Wi-Fi, 3G (HSDPA), Synchronous collaboration and Remote security and Monitoring were also rated as very important to the future business of government organisations. The third highest rating was given to Mobile VPN data access, 3G WIMAX and Video Telephony. The 40% of participants were uncertain about the importance of emerging technologies. This means that government employees need to keep up with the latest technologies and they need to receive more training on the use of these important technologies and become aware of their potentials benefits. - 111 -
