technologies adoption. Responded are required to tick boxes indicating the most current<br />
mobile technology used in their organizations. The mobile technologies which are<br />
combined together with established business application such as corporate SMS, instant<br />
messaging and remote monitoring are looked at in question five.<br />
Question six surveys which mobile technology is provided to which staff, e.g. after-<br />
sales services and support staff. Question eight is intended to investigate on the type of<br />
training offered in an organization with regards to mobile technology.<br />
Responded were asked in question nine to provide any indication regarding the<br />
importance of the common technology listed in question four. A scale range from<br />
unsure, very unimportant, somewhat unimportant, somewhat important and very<br />
important was used by respondents. Respondents in question ten were ask to provide a<br />
measure of organization-wide sophistication of users. The choices for respondents to<br />
select ranges from unsure, very basic, somewhat basic, somewhat advanced and very<br />
advanced. A list of emerging technology is given in the last question. Respondents were<br />
asked to indicate the importance of the new technology and the impact on the business.<br />
A scale range from unsure, not important at all, somewhat important, important or very<br />
important is given for respondents to select from.<br />
The Kirsten‟s readiness survey does not provide a measure as the EIU tool for example,<br />
but it does give an indication of the maturity of the organisation with regard to mobile<br />
technology adoption. In the following section the model compiled for this study will be<br />
discussed.<br />
