The reader will perhaps f<strong>in</strong>d <strong>the</strong> frequent mention of <strong>the</strong> changes<br />

of <strong>the</strong> wea<strong>the</strong>r somewhat tedious, but noth<strong>in</strong>g serves so well to give<br />

On <strong>the</strong> 28th much ra<strong>in</strong> had fallen dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> night; <strong>and</strong> on <strong>the</strong><br />

who gave us a very polite reception, <strong>and</strong> enterta<strong>in</strong>ed us with great<br />

hospitality. The even<strong>in</strong>g was very cool <strong>and</strong> pleasant, <strong>and</strong> it was<br />

to be presumed that as <strong>the</strong> ra<strong>in</strong>s had now fallen <strong>in</strong><br />

great abundance,<br />

I found<br />

On my arrival at C/ii/lick, on <strong>the</strong> morn<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>the</strong> 30th,<br />

On my reach<strong>in</strong>g Chijliek on <strong>the</strong> 5th. I was called to <strong>the</strong> child<br />
