SoftLogix
The SoftLogix control platform is a means by which you can use your personal computer for industrial
control applications. Many people do not consider the personal computer as reliable or fast as
programmable logic controllers or rugged enough for the factory floor. However, today’s advances in PC
technology have made personal computers faster, more powerful, and more robust than ever.
SoftLogix for PC-based industrial control features:
• Low ownership costs, easy customization, straightforward data exchange, and speedy information
processing.
• Replacement of proprietary control systems with open-architecture control that provides for
connectivity to EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, and ControlNet.
• Ability to write your own custom commands through C programming, Visual Basic, and ActiveX.
• Ability to build your own control system with functionality to suit your specific application needs.
Note: The SoftLogix control platform is supported by the programming power of RSLogix 5000 software.
