tools for working in groups and for setting up public events around ecological issues. In a process
of active learning participants will develop their own concepts for actions they want to take in their
natural and social environment. The concept of the workshop, which is inspired by Deep Ecology
Work ("Work that reconnects") and by the Transition Town Movement, also emphasises on a
European dimension. Among the content and activities of the workshop are: getting to know
techniques of group communication and decision making such as World Café, Open Space,
Fishbowl etc. experiencing and learning about methods how to extract a vision from the
informational input and ones own experience related to ecological and social issues. Individual
studies and group studies around issues such as: permaculture, sustainable gardening, local energy
supply, re-location, peak-oil, protection and extinction of species, globalization activities and
games in nature creative work and artwork to advance the learning process field trip to visit
an ecology citizens' action groups; share of experience with members of Transition Town Bielefeld
shared learning based on the different experiences from different European countries
developing an individual concept for bringing the workshop experience into practice in participants
local environment
