The main objective of this workshop is getting the participants learn the techniques of preparing<br />

Mediterranean diet desserts. Through the workshop dessert techniques of Mediterranean cuisine<br />

will be introduced on a European platform to individuals from different countries. Our aim is to<br />

gather people from various countries and get them to be familiar with properties and qualities of<br />

Turkish Mediterranean desserts. The general vision of the workshop is the realization of<br />

information exchange and cooperation between different cultures. At the end, the participants will<br />

have an important amount of knowledge about Mediterranean and Anatolian food and dessert<br />

culture. As participants will be from various countries; different food and dessert cultures of the<br />

countries will be introduced. The similarities and differences within this diversity will enrich the<br />

cultural perspective in food preparation. The work programme will be as follows:<br />

- Information about Mediterranean diet desserts,<br />

- Discussing common dessert cultures of the countries and getting to understand its relation with the<br />

Mediterranean diet desserts,<br />

- Learning the importance of yoghurt, milk and fruits for health,<br />

- Exploring the importance of the Mediterranean diet desserts for women,<br />

- Calculating calorie values of foods,<br />

- Preparation techniques of the Mediterranean diet desserts,<br />

- Duration of cooking and using the equipment,<br />

- Introducing features of the equipment used in making desserts,<br />

- Preparing desserts including milk, yoghurt or fruit together in the kitchen.<br />

- Preparing and cooking diet desserts considering their type,<br />

- Preparing desserts for service.<br />

- Learning to keep the desserts fresh and healthy before consumption.<br />
