Target Group + Translation:
The target groups of the workshop are people from disadvantaged environments or with special
needs in education whom different kinds of limits (physical or mental health, age, finances) stand in
the way to fully join social life. The Workshop is intended for people who struggle with loneliness,
isolation and lack of perspectives, as well as for those who, due to their difficult financial situation,
are not able to take part in cultural events.
The organiser has set 3 target groups of the Workshop:
- people with a disability,
- unemployed, especially long-term,
- seniors (above 50 years old).
Expected number of participants: 16
Main activities Programme + Programme translation:
The goal of the Workshop is to gather participants from Europe to create a gospel choir under the
direction of experienced instructors. They will prepare 10 songs to be performed during the concert
on the last day of the Workshop.
Main activities:
Introduction to gospel music.
Choir rehearsals.
Participation in gospel concerts within 7xGospel Festival.
Sessions in a recording studio.
Public performance during the final concert.
Under the supervision of the specialists in the subject, the learners will acquire:
- valuable knowledge about gospel music (history, traditions, music styles, message),
- skills connected to gospel singing in a choir (vocal techniques, rythm, singing in harmony and
solo singing),
- skills necessary to effectively work in a team.
Thanks to communicating in English during the Workshop and to the lyrics of the songs learnt, the
participants from non-
English-speaking countries will strengthen their language skills.
All that will help build and strengthen participants’ self-confidence in order to empower them to
take more active approach to
social life in their own communities.
