INTERNATIONAL CINEMA WEEK - a consideration of the way of
being European citizen (Semana internacional de cine - Una reflexíon
sobre el modo de ser europeo)

Target Group + Translation:
The assistance of 25 participants (20 from EU countries and 5 from Spain) is previewed. The
workshop is directed to adult people - women and men, especially proceeding from rural areas and
retired or in age of retirement. Priority will have the candidates who show a special interest in the
cinema and that haven’t had possibilities of travelling around Europe and of knowing other
countries and cultures. The previous linguistic preparation is very important,as well as the
participants’ interest in the European dimension of the programme.
Main activities Programme + Programme translation:
Common reflection on the european citizenship; reflection on the cinema culture and the European
dimension of its manifestations; seeing of movies, presented to the SEMINCI; reflection and
analysis after every movie on the properly european aspects which represents and extrapolation to
the european dimension related to the movie, seen from the cultural reality of each one; session of
commentary and reflection with at least three directors of european cinema, present in the seminci.
programme: mornings: conferences, round tables on topics of the adult persons and the european
construction, the world of the european culture and the cinema, meetings with cinema directors
afternoons: seeing of movies from the context of the SEMINCI, commentaries on the movies in
european analysis perspective complementary activities: guided visits of Valladolid, Salamanca,
Tordesillas; welcome dinner (international one) and a farewell dinner in a typical bodega of the
region.
