Learning Outcomes<br />
Students will be able to do the following,<br />

• Clearly communicate in conversation and<br />
written form on a variety of topics in the<br />
target language.<br />

Requirements for the Major<br />
A major in French, German or Spanish<br />
consists of 33 hours in the language, at least 24<br />
of these hours being on the 300 and 400 levels.<br />
All language majors will need to take at least<br />
one 300-level skills course and two 400-level<br />
courses. Specific area requirements are listed<br />
below by language.<br />

Study Abroad<br />
Through membership in the International<br />
Student Exchange Program, <strong>Butler</strong> offers programs<br />
in Argentina, Austria, Canada (Quebec),<br />
Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, France,<br />
Germany, Mexico, Spain and other countries.<br />
Students may choose to participate in other<br />
programs through <strong>Butler</strong>-directed study abroad<br />
through the Center for Global Education.<br />
Students receive credit for study abroad.<br />
Advanced Placement<br />
All students enrolling in language courses<br />
