RX636, Cardiovascular Therapeutics: This<br />
course will develop knowledge of treatment<br />
principles of major cardiovascular conditions’<br />
with emphasis on reviewing and reading the<br />
landmark trials for why we treat cardiovascular<br />

diseases in clinical practice. Important clinical<br />
trials, treatment, guidelines and several pharmacotherapeutic<br />

RX637, Drug Induced Diseases: This course<br />
will introduce students to relevant adverse<br />
reactions that occur with medication therapies;<br />
focusing on identification of the drug-induced<br />
disease and evaluation of potential causes. Students<br />
will develop skills and thought processes<br />
designed to systematically evaluate disease<br />
states and understand treatment algorithms.<br />

RX638, Diabetes Management: This elective<br />
provides concepts and clinical pearls of diabetes<br />
management. Students will learn to provide<br />
quality care education to patients on selfmanagement<br />
skills, therapeutic interventions,<br />
motivational interviewing and counseling.<br />
Students will assist in the management of<br />
patients with diabetes while maintaining patient<br />
confidentiality and privacy. Prerequisites:<br />

RX639, Psychiatric Therapeutics: This course<br />
builds upon skills learned in Therapeutics III,<br />
providing a broad knowledge base of psychiatric<br />
and neurologic disease states. Students will<br />
learn to provide the psychopharmacologic and<br />
therapeutic management strategies to treat these<br />
disorders and unique patient counseling skills<br />
essential to developing patient relationships.<br />

This course is designed for pharmacy students<br />
interested in learning about the business of<br />
pharmacy and healthcare and how to assume<br />

RX641, Pediatric Pharmacotherapy: A course<br />
dealing with drug therapy in the pediatric<br />
population including neonates, infants,<br />
children and adolescents. This course prepares<br />
the student to evaluate pediatric drug therapy<br />

fourth year Pharm.D. courses or permission of<br />
