legal environment and governmental regulation<br />
of business. Management’s responsibility to<br />
operate within the constraints imposed by the<br />
legal system and governmental controls are<br />

LE365, Business Law I: Business law subjects<br />
covering the law of torts, contracts, sale of<br />
goods and of property (personal and real).<br />

Management Courses<br />
MG101, Freshman Business Experience:<br />
Introduces freshman students to the global<br />
business environment. Exposes students to the<br />
basic business disciplines while emphasizing<br />
self-awareness, critical thinking, problem<br />
solving, teamwork and business ethics. Provides<br />
students with a variety of integrated, experiential<br />
learning opportunities including: simulations,<br />
case studies, field trips, guest speakers and<br />
career counseling. Prerequisite: Freshmen only.<br />

MG201, Real Business Experience I: This<br />
class will teach students how to develop a real<br />
business plan. The course will contain a simulation,<br />
a business plan report, a major end of<br />
semester presentation and potentially, funding<br />
for a (follow-up class) real business start-up.<br />
Prerequisites: MG101, COB major, and<br />
sophomore level only, or permission of<br />
instructor. (U)(3). Fall and spring.<br />
MG202, Real Business Experience II: A<br />
continuation of MG201 (formerly MG297).<br />
Students will launch a start-up business and<br />
operate it throughout the semester. Prerequisites:<br />
MG201, COB major, and sophomore<br />
level only, or permission of instructor. (U)(3).<br />

MG303, Leadership London: This course<br />
is a seminar-style, site-based course taught in<br />
London, England that uses London’s resources,<br />
institutions, and history to explore the cultural,<br />

international, historical and ethical issues<br />
relevant to leadership. (U)(3).<br />
MG311, Departmental Honors: This course<br />
will fulfill the departmental honors requirement<br />
for COB students in the university honors<br />
program. It is designed to prepare students to<br />
complete the honors thesis by teaching them<br />
the fundamentals of conducting academic research.<br />
Topics addressed will include developing<br />
a hypothesis, research design and methods for<br />
collecting data. It will also familiarize students<br />
with research topics, methods and library<br />
resources that are unique to the different areas<br />
of business. Prerequisites: Junior status and<br />
enrolled in Honors Program. (U)(2). Fall only.<br />
MG360, Organizational Behavior: Develops<br />
an understanding of individual and group<br />
behavior in organizations by examining both<br />
the theories that explain human behavior and<br />
their application in business and other settings.<br />
Topics covered include personality, values,<br />
motivation, leadership, communication, work<br />
teams and decision making. Experiential<br />
learning will be emphasized. Prerequisite:<br />

MG401, 402, 403, Independent Study:<br />
(U)(1, 2 or 3).<br />
MG490, Administrative Policy: The tasks of<br />
the manager in formulating short- and longrun<br />
corporate strategy. Using the case method,<br />
a framework is developed for integrating skills<br />
learned in other required business courses.<br />
Prerequisites: Senior standing, COB401,<br />
MG350, MG360, MG365, MK380 and<br />

MG495, Special Topics in Management:<br />
Seminar in selected management topics. Course<br />

Applications: Students learn how to develop<br />
Excel spreadsheets to identify, define and solve<br />
business problems. They develop analytical<br />
skills by considering a problem and its solution<br />

IF statements, formatting, charting, database<br />
