RX692, Indigent Care Rotation: This rotation<br />

provides the student pharmacist with an<br />

understanding of the special considerations<br />

involved in the delivery of health care to<br />

indigent populations. Prerequisite: P–4<br />

RX693, Pharmacy Board and Association<br />

Rotation: This rotation develops the student<br />

pharmacist’s understanding of the organizational<br />

structure of the Pharmacy Board and<br />

state Pharmacy Associations, their daily operation,<br />

and the manner in which they influence<br />

pharmacy practice. Prerequisite: P–4 standing.<br />

RX694, Surgery Rotation: This rotation<br />

develops the student pharmacist’s knowledge<br />

and problem-solving skills in the application<br />

of therapeutic principles to the care of patients<br />

who undergo surgery. Prerequisite: P–4<br />

standing. (U)(4). Variable.<br />

RX695, Transplantation Rotation: This<br />

rotation develops the student pharmacist’s<br />

knowledge and problem-solving skills in the<br />

application of therapeutic principles to the<br />

care of patients who have undergone organ<br />

transplantation. Prerequisite: P–4 standing.<br />

RX698, Washington, D.C. Rotation: This<br />

rotation experience provides an opportunity to<br />

participate in a 3-month learning opportunity<br />

in the Washington DC area arranged through<br />

the <strong>Butler</strong>-Washington Semester Intern<br />

Program. The experiential learning portion of<br />

this program is arranged individually based on<br />

specific student interests. The College requires<br />

that students participating in this program also<br />

enroll in P0355 or AH110/AH202 and at least<br />

one 1-credit hour Washington seminar course.<br />

RX699, Special Topics: Elective Rotation in<br />

Pharmacy Practice: An experiential course that<br />

allows students to explore new developments<br />

in delivery of pharmacy services. Rotation sites<br />

will vary depending upon the area of pharmacy<br />

practice being investigated. Prerequisite: P–4<br />

standing. (U)(4). Variable.<br />

RX700, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilence<br />

Rotation: This rotation provides the<br />

student pharmacist an opportunity to participate<br />

in and to better understand the various<br />

regulatory agencies and processes that assure the<br />

safety and efficacy of drug therapies available<br />

for human use. Prerequisite: P–4 standing.<br />

RX701/702, Research and Thesis: Research<br />

toward completion of thesis in pharmaceutical<br />

sciences. Prerequisite: GPA of 3.0 or above,<br />

analyses, cost effectiveness studies, evaluating<br />

research literature and pharmaceutical<br />

manufacturing data. Prerequisite: Permission<br />

Discussions and formal presentations<br />

covering basic concepts and recent advances<br />

in clinical applications of pharmacology to<br />
