Education, Part II: Students will examine the<br />

role of the teacher in educational settings by<br />

ED667, Seminar on National Board Certification<br />

(Level II — Candidate/Study Group):<br />

The purpose of this course is to act as a professional<br />

study group to support the candidate<br />

through the process. A group of students will<br />

meet with a professor and National Board<br />

Certified teacher every 3 weeks to assemble<br />

and acquire the resources and skills necessary<br />

for the process. The teachers will share data<br />

with one another and take part in professional<br />

conversations about their work. (G)(3).<br />

portfolio and submit it for National Board<br />

School Counseling Program<br />

Master of Science in School Counseling<br />

The 48 hour semester master’s degree<br />

program in school counseling is nationally<br />

accredited by the Council for Accreditation of<br />

Counseling and Related Educational Programs<br />

(CACREP) and meets their national standards.<br />

The program is experiential and emphasizes<br />

a theory to practice learning environment.<br />

State of the art technology used for clinical<br />

supervision maximizes learning and provides<br />

opportunities to enhance faculty-student<br />

interaction. Our program has partnerships with<br />

a local non-profit organization to assist grieving<br />

children and a local high-risk inner city school.<br />

Our counselor education faculty is committed<br />

to respecting diversity within ourselves, our<br />

graduate students, and the PK–12 students<br />

our graduates are being prepared to serve. We<br />

encourage, promote, and respect diversity in<br />

the counselor education curriculum and in the<br />

knowledge, skills and attitudes of our graduate<br />

students and alumni.<br />

The School Counseling Program complies<br />

with all the national standards of CACREP,<br />
