68 Unexpected Aboriginal<br />

heritage discovery across<br />

the proposal footprint.<br />

All works would be stopped within 10 metres <strong>of</strong> an unexpected<br />

find discovery and subsequently implement the provisions <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Standard Management Procedure: Unexpected Archaeological<br />

Finds (Roads and Maritime, 2012). This would include:<br />

Onsite specialist supervision to inform the Roads and<br />

Maritime Heritage Officer/Environment Officer<br />

Recording the location and context <strong>of</strong> any historic heritage.<br />

An Aboriginal heritage impact permit (AHIP) would be obtained<br />

prior to restarting works in the event <strong>of</strong> discovering an<br />

unexpected find:<br />

Construction<br />

<br />

Have a qualified heritage specialist prepare a cultural<br />

heritage application report (CHAR) that would support an<br />

application for the permit<br />

<br />

Consult with the local Aboriginal land council in preparing the<br />

CHAR<br />

<br />

Obtain the permit from the Heritage Council <strong>of</strong> NSW. This<br />

application would be accompanied by a prepared by a<br />

heritage specialist.<br />

70 Additional ancillary facilities<br />

(including stockpile site,<br />

construction compounds<br />

and laydown areas).<br />

Following consultation Environment Branch, Roads and Maritime<br />

(Sydney Region) would carry out stage 1 <strong>of</strong> the PACHCI process<br />

in the event that the detailed design identifies the requirement<br />

for any modification to the proposal, including the requirement to<br />

establish alternative construction compounds/laydown areas.<br />

An air quality management plan (AQMP) would form a sub-plan<br />
