Tsunami
There will be one or two reflected images visible on the card: one
from M3 and perhaps one from MI. If only one image is visible,
adjust M1 until two are present. The stationary image is from MS.
Note that they need not over-lap at this point in the alignment.
d. Remove the white card.
PerJom steps e, J; h, i, and j only if you changed the focus of P2, M2 or M3
during this alignment session.
e. Measure along the beam path from M3 through M4 to M5, and
place the white card about 45 cm from the surface of M3.
f. Move the M3 translation stage until the vertically-oriented elliptical
image displayed on the card becomes focused.
Hold the M3 translation stage in place and loosen its setscrew (located
over the dovetail slide, Figure 6-4). Carefully slide the
stage until the image becomes focused on the card (Figure 6-7),
then tighten the setscrew.
g. Adjust M1 vertically and horizontally to overlap its reflected
image onto the centered elliptical image from Ms.
h. Focus M2 by moving its translation stage.
Adjust the M2 micrometer to focus the weak fluorescence reflected
from MI as a horizontally elliptical image on the white
card.
i. Remove the white card.
j. Verify the pump beam is still centered on the intracavity surfaces
of MI, M2. and M3.
If it is not, repeat steps 12 and 13 to recenter the beam on the
intracavity surfaces of MI, MP. and MS.
15. Align fold mirrors M4 and Ms.
a. Verify M4 and M5 are in their correct positions for ps or fs operation
pigure 6-8).
