4.5 Paralympic Sailing Village4.5.1 Paralympic Sailing Village overviewThe Paralympic Sailing Village is located in Weymouth and Portland and is less than1km from the Sailing competition venue. It will be home to all Sailing athletes andtheir respective NPC team officials during the London 2012 Games.The Paralympic Sailing Village consists of new build family home type housing andwill be han<strong>de</strong>d over to LOCOG in early 2012.4.5.2 Paralympic Sailing Village timelinesParalympic Sailing Village pre-opening 20 August 2012 at 08:00Paralympic Sailing Village opening 22 August 2012 at 08:00Paralympic Sailing Village closing 8 September 2012 at 18:004.5.3 Zones and access control pointsThe Paralympic Sailing Village has a single Resi<strong>de</strong>ntial Zone supported by a WelcomeCentre, a Transport Mall and a Guest Pass Centre.The Village will be security fenced and controlled by the normal Games securityprocesses of accreditation checks and PSAs where appropriate. LOCOG Securityservices at this Village will be supported by Dorset County Police.Given the proximity of the Village to the venue and even though a regular shuttleservice will be available from the Transport Mall, LOCOG anticipates the majority ofathletes and NPC team officials will walk the short distance between the Village andthe venue.4.5.4 Welcome CentreThe Village Welcome Centre is located adjacent to the Transport Mall and will beopen 24 hours a day. Accreditation services will be available from 07:00–23:00during the peak arrival period in the Welcome Centre.
