5.6.9 Access to medical services outsi<strong>de</strong> of LOCOG venuesIn an emergency, the UK emergency services can be contacted by dialling 999. NPCaccreditedpersonnel should not access NHS family practice services during theGames-time period.5.6.10 Public health servicesPublic health services including, but not limited to, disease surveillance, communicabledisease control, health protection (such as food, water and air quality) will be in placethroughout the whole country.Vaccinations are not required for entry to the UK.In the UK, smoking is prohibited in enclosed buildings that are open to the public orare used as a place of work. All competition and training venues will be non-smokingareas.5.6.11 Team physician registration to practice in the UKTeam physicians will need to register with the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC)un<strong>de</strong>r a special arrangement for the Games. This is free of charge and enablesphysicians to provi<strong>de</strong> services to their teams for the duration of the Games.Should registered team physicians wish to treat members of other <strong>de</strong>legations abilateral agreement will be required between the NPCs concerned. The form for this isavailable upon request.Team Physicians will be able to accompany team members to hospital and discussclinical management with the hospital medical teams.
