The matching of volunteer to delegation pre-Gamesallows the volunteer time to research the needs/cultural aspects and general make-upof his/her NPC.Management and scheduling of NPC AssistantsNPC Assistants will be available to each NPC from its delegation’s arrival (includingthe Villages pre-opening period) until its departure.NPC Assistants will be managed, and their shifts will be scheduled, by the NPC.Volunteer shifts will be eight to ten hours in length. In each seven-day period, eachNPC Assistant will require at least one day of rest. When scheduling work shifts, NPCswill be asked to remember that NPC Assistants are volunteering their time to supportthe delegation and the London 2012 Games.LOCOG will provide meals for NPC Assistants at workforce dining facilities.Please note that a procedure will exist for NPC Assistants to access food when basedoutside of the Village for the duration of their shift(s).A work and rest area will be provided for NPC Assistants on the first floor of the NPCServices Centre in the Paralympic Village.4.2.12 Chefs de Mission meetingsChefs de Mission meetings will be the principal forum for LOCOG, the IPC and NPCsto exchange information and resolve issues related to Games-time operations.The first meeting will be held during the Villages pre-opening period at 08:00 on 21August 2012. Subsequent meetings will start at 07:30 and the precise schedule ofmeetings will be provided in the Chefs de Mission Manual.Meetings will be conducted in the Chefs de Missions Meeting Hall which is locatedbehind the NPC Services Centre and the Sport Information Centre (SIC) in theParalympic Village.
