Main Dining HallThe Main Dining Hall is located adjacent to the Transport Mall in the Resi<strong>de</strong>ntial Zoneand will operate on a 24-hour basis.The dining facility will be configured to meet the specific needs of Paralympicresi<strong>de</strong>nts:- Greater space will be created between the furniture to provi<strong>de</strong> better circulationareas;- Part of the space will be used as a wheelchair ‘parking area’ for the convenienceof those resi<strong>de</strong>nts who need to move an additional chair between venues andVillage; and- Part of the space will be given over to a <strong>de</strong>signated IPSF Games officials’ diningarea.A diverse range of ethnic and cultural food options will be available. Menus are being<strong>de</strong>veloped in consultation with caterers and sport nutritionists and will be published inearly 2012. During the Games, the menus will be rotated every eight days.A McDonald’s restaurant will be located in the Main Dining Hall.All resi<strong>de</strong>nts and guests will be expected to store their bags and equipment in asupervised bag check area before entering. This will reduce potential for trip hazardsor injury and ensure there is enough space for athletes at all times.People entering the dining hall will have their accreditation checked to ensure they areentitled to eat there or, alternatively, they will be required to present a single mealvoucher purchased from the Catering <strong>de</strong>sk in the NPC Services Centre.For health reasons, users of the Main Dining Hall may only remove one drink, onepiece of fruit and handheld food currently being consumed.
