LOCOG will arrange the safe storage of firearms and ammunition in the terminalawaiting pick-up and final <strong>de</strong>livery to the Shooting venue.On first arrival at the venue, athletes will be able to claim their firearms and officiallyi<strong>de</strong>ntify and register them.Should an athlete or team not arrive via London Heathrow, the rules regardingimporting firearms and ammunition will still apply as above. However, as there will beno Logistics support to transport the firearms and ammunition, the team or athlete willneed to clear their firearms via UKBA, through the red channel. Teams and athletesmay then remove the firearms themselves from the terminal and transport them directlyto Royal Artillery Barracks. There will be no provision to accept, store or handlefirearms and ammunition at the Welcome Centre at the Paralympic Village.Team members travelling from another port of entry must surren<strong>de</strong>r their firearms atRoyal Artillery Barracks before proceeding to the Paralympic Village. Upon arrival atRoyal Artillery Barracks, the firearms will be taken to the armoury immediately. If theteam or athlete is not in possession of his/her full accreditation to gain access to thevenue, LOCOG will assist in moving the firearms and ammunition from the secure gateinto the venue’s armoury.Requirements for exporting all firearms after the London 2012 GamesTeams must advise LOCOG of their <strong>de</strong>parture plans, via LOCOG’s ADS. Firearms willbe collected by the Logistics team in secure vehicles and taken to the respectiveterminal at London Heathrow in accordance with the <strong>de</strong>parture plans within the ADS.The team or individual will be reunited with the firearms at the check-in <strong>de</strong>sk for formali<strong>de</strong>ntification.A team or individual not <strong>de</strong>parting via London Heathrow must advise LOCOG of their<strong>de</strong>parture plan in or<strong>de</strong>r to remove any firearms secured in the armoury. LOCOG willrelease firearms and ammunition based on the team’s requests and evi<strong>de</strong>nce of acorrect and valid BVP. Once the team has left Royal Artillery Barracks, it will beresponsible for ensuring that all firearms and ammunition leave the country inaccordance with the licence issued.LOCOG and UKBA representatives will be available at the venue to supervise allprocedures and to facilitate the export of the firearms and ammunition.London 2012 – NPC <strong>Chefs</strong> <strong>de</strong> <strong>Mission</strong> <strong>Dossier</strong>67
