NPCs may use and display their NPC emblem at their hospitality houses (both insi<strong>de</strong>and outsi<strong>de</strong>) without LOCOG’s approval. However, all external signage must complywith UK law. For example, planning permission may be required for large signageand additional LOCOG approval may be required in accordance with the proposedregulations restricting advertising in the vicinity of venues if the house is within theaffected area (see above). Further <strong>de</strong>tails of the regulations, where they will apply andhow NPCs may seek authorisation from LOCOG, will be issued when the regulationshave been finalised.If an NPC wishes to promote its hospitality house in the UK, only the NPC emblemmay be used, without any reference to the Games and without any commercialassociation. Should the NPC wish to inclu<strong>de</strong> a reference to the Games, it must bestrictly limited to the participation of its team (without any use of any Games marks).NPC team uniform replicas and other NPC-related merchandise may be sold in NPChospitality houses, and LOCOG will not seek royalties on such sales. However, thefollowing restrictions apply:- Retail-<strong>de</strong>dicated floor space in an NPC house must be limited to a maximum of50m² as anything larger could conflict with LOCOG’s merchandise programmeand constitute a breach of our official retail agreements;- No external advertising/marketing/promotion of the NPC house retailactivities/product is permitted;- No retail of NPC team uniform replicas or NPC-related merchandise outsi<strong>de</strong> theNPC hospitality house is permitted unless an agreement has been entered intowith LOCOG and commercial terms agreed.5.11.6 Clean venuesNPCs are remin<strong>de</strong>d that, in addition to the uniform and equipment rules, all NPCsmust respect IPC rules which restrict advertising and branding in venues (see the IPCHandbook). With the exception of branding being permitted un<strong>de</strong>r the IPCManufacturer I<strong>de</strong>ntification Gui<strong>de</strong>lines, NPCs and their team members should not useany signage, clothing or equipment that bears third-party branding in venues, forexample, drink bottles, bags, bikes, physio tables, etc. All branding on such itemsshould be discreetly covered where practical.
