For guidelines for shipping equestrian freight for the London2012 Paralympic Equestrian event, please refer to the Equestrian Freight Manualwhich can be found on The Exchange.Horses coming into the UK from outside the EU to compete at the London 2012Games can be brought into the UK under the TA procedure outlined in the Customsand Freight Forwarding Guide.All horses competing at the London 2012 Games must have a Fédération EquestreInternationale (FEI) ‘Horse Passport’ (www.fei.org).Horses arriving by air transportation may only arrive at London Heathrow, LondonStansted or Prestwick airports where Border Inspection Posts (BIP) exist. They do not require a health certificate. Nonetheless, they must be freeof signs of disease and be fit for transport.Horses arriving into the UK from other EU member states, Switzerland and NorwayHorses require an FEI horse passport and must be accompanied by a health certificateor a health attestation signed by an official veterinarian of the country of export within48 hours of travelling to the UK.
