Sport Viewing Room (SVR)The Sport Viewing Room (SVR) will be located in close proximity to the SIC. Atpresent, LOCOG is reviewing all options for the type of service that will be availablein the SVR during the Games, and will communicate this in due course.4.2.14 Resident entertainment and recreationThe following areas will be available to Village residents for relaxation andentertainment:- Athlete lounge- Entertainment area- DVD lounge- Internet lounge- Electronic games roomFrom 22 August until 12 September, all recreational facilities will be open 24 hours aday but will be staffed from 07:00–00:00 midnight only.Athlete loungeThe athlete lounge will be a vibrant area where athletes can congregate, socialise andrelax in the Residential Zone. It will be an area where the space is used flexibly tooffer athletes a number of different options – examples of the facilities are a drinksarea, lounge, informal entertainment area, pool table(s), darts, etc.Entertainment areaA general entertainment area will exist where musical entertainment will be performed.DVD loungeDVD services will be provided to residents in a self-service style lounge. Electronic games roomAn electronic games room will be located within the Residential Zone of the Village.Athlete fitness and sport recreationThe Paralympic Village will contain recreational sports facilities for general use, but itshould be noted that all sport-specific training facilities will be located outside theVillage. These in-Village recreational facilities will include playing fields (with generalgrass areas), courts (including basketball, tennis and five-a-side football) and anartificial grass pitch, and will be designed to suit general fitness activities. In addition,the Village will contain a gymnasium with a significant selection of cardiovascularequipment and free weights, and space for stretching and warming up/down. Therewill also be plenty of safe places for jogging, both within the Village and in theVillage-specific jogging area to the west of the Village. These facilities will operate 24hours a day except when temporarily closed for cleaning or maintenance.4.2.15 Village PlazaThe Village Plaza comprises a number of retail outlets and services. LOCOG hasdesigned this area as a significant focal point of the Village to attract both residentsand visitors alike. The plaza will act as an interface with athlete-specific entertainmentareas and support services such as the internet lounge and the Village Plaza café. AllTeam Welcome Ceremonies will take place in the Village Plaza.Retail services in the Village PlazaRetail services will be provided in the Village Plaza for the convenience of theresidents and guests of the Paralympic Village.
