Emergency services will be available 24 hours per day and all other services from07.00–23.00 depending on demand. A number of services will be available on anon call basis. The Polyclinics will be open from 20 August 2012 – 12 September2012.NPC Doctors will be able to request imaging and laboratory services and discussresults with LOCOG medical services clinicians. The imaging reporting room in themain Polyclinic is available to team doctors for review of scans and films.Referrals to hospitals can only be made by LOCOG medical personnel. NPC Doctorswill be able to accompany team members and discuss management with the admittingdoctor in the hospital.5.6.6 Venue medical servicesMedical facilities will be provided at competition, training and other official venues.Athlete and spectator services will be stocked with appropriate equipment, suppliesand medication and will be staffed by experienced medical personnel. Ambulances,staffed by paramedics and technicians, will be stationed at competition and some noncompetitionvenues.Competition and training venuesEmergency services and sports medicine for ill and injured athletes and NPC teamofficials will be available at each competition and training venue. These services willbe provided by physicians and therapists (physiotherapists and/or sports massagetherapists).Field-of-play responseAthletes injured on the field of play during competition or training will be evaluated onsite. If necessary, they will be retrieved from the field of play and transported to theathlete medical room, polyclinic or hospital as appropriate.
