3.3.10 Arrivals at other ports of entryServices at other portsLOCOG encourages all NPCs to use London Heathrow Airport, which is the officialPort of Entry for London 2012 and where LOCOG will be providing a full range ofarrival and <strong>de</strong>parture services.NPCs that have no alternative but to arrive at a port other than Heathrow Airportshould speak to their NPC Relations representative during the <strong>Chefs</strong> <strong>de</strong> <strong>Mission</strong>Seminar.Charter and corporate flightsHeathrow Airport is the world’s busiest international airport with one of the mostexpansive route networks of any major airport. The airport operates close to capacityat all times and at Games time will be full with scheduled flights. This means thatduring the Games, charter and corporate flights will have to use alternative airports. Itshould be noted that all private flights will need to book airspace and airport slotsduring the Games period and LOCOG recommends that these be booked very earlydue to their high <strong>de</strong>mand. A gui<strong>de</strong> to potential airports that may have availability canbe found on the Protocol page of The Exchange.3.3.11 Journey from Heathrow Airport to Villages and ParalympicFamily HotelsAthletes and NPC team officialsUpon arrival, LOCOG transport services will be provi<strong>de</strong>d from all terminals atHeathrow Airport to all Villages, between 22 August and 12 September 2012.LOCOG representatives will direct athletes and NPC team officials in possession ofPre-Valid Cards or a Paralympic I<strong>de</strong>ntity and Accreditation Card (PIAC), to the loadzone where a suitable vehicle will transport them to the appropriate Village.In the event of the <strong>de</strong>legate not being in possession of a Pre-Valid Card, he or sheshould visit the Paralympic Welcome Desk in the landsi<strong>de</strong> area of the terminal, wherean i<strong>de</strong>ntification check will take place before access to the transport system can begranted.London 2012 – NPC <strong>Chefs</strong> <strong>de</strong> <strong>Mission</strong> <strong>Dossier</strong>51
