22 August 2012 – 6 September 201222 August 2012 – 3 September 2012Radio equipment inspections at the Sailingcompetition venue at Weymouth andPortlandRadio equipment inspections at the Rowingcompetition venue at Eton DorneyFrom March 2012, Ofcom will begin issuing Games-time frequency licences.Applicants must programme their wireless <strong>de</strong>vices in accordance with the Ofcomlicence terms and conditions. Late applications will receive their frequencyauthorisation on a best-effort basis.To minimise interference during Games time, LOCOG will institute procedures tovalidate (test and tag) all radio frequency equipment to be used during the Games.Upon arrival in London and prior to use, all radio equipment will need to beauthorised by the Spectrum Management team at the venues mentioned in the abovetable. During this validation, a member of the Spectrum team will match the equipmentagainst the corresponding frequency authorisation issued by Ofcom. If the radiofrequency equipment matches the specifications outlined in the Ofcom licence, avalidation label will be fixed to the <strong>de</strong>vice. This validation label will specify in whichvenue (or cluster of venues) the equipment can operate.Failure to programme your equipment will prevent it from being approved.
