NPCs will be responsible for the total cost of any loss or damage if the insurancecover is invalidated by any of the activities described above. A damage deposit willbe included in the rental cost of NPC Rate Card vehicles which will be used to offsetthe cost of any damage caused.Any fines or fees associated with driving offences and violations will be the fullresponsibility of the individual driving the vehicle in question.5.12.4 Legal advice and representation for NPCsLOCOG has worked with the Law Society, the Bar Council and the British Associationfor Sport and Law to assemble an independent service of barristers’ chambers, lawfirms and individual practitioners.The service will provide free independent legal advice and representation for NPCsand IPSFs for the period of the Games. The Service will be made up of a specialistSports Advocacy Section to represent athletes at hearings, particularly urgent ad hochearings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and a General Section to provideadvice and assistance in the fields of sports, criminal, defamation and privacy,immigration, discrimination and personal injury law. The Sports Advocacy Section willcomprise individual advocates and the General Section will be composed of law firmsand chambers.NPCs will be eligible to seek advice and assistance from the service, although theywill of course remain free to appoint other lawyers of their own choosing.
