Trencin 20 year water & sewerage concession TVS<br />

Slovakia has six regional water organisations and 47 local water supply establishments. By 2002,<br />

three of the latter (Trencin district, Komarno district and Hlohovec city) had their shares transferred to<br />

local authorities. Of these three, only Trencin has to date decided to sell shares to the private sector.<br />

Bratislavskej vodarenskej spolocnosti (BVS), which serves Bratislava, is 59% held by the city council.<br />

BVS aims to invest Sk700m (€17 million) in 2004 on capital projects and serves 750,000 people in<br />

Bratislava and the West of Slovakia. While PSP for BVS has not been ruled out, the city does not<br />

anticipate developments in the near term.<br />
