Trencin 20 year water & sewerage concession TVS
Slovakia has six regional water organisations and 47 local water supply establishments. By 2002,
three of the latter (Trencin district, Komarno district and Hlohovec city) had their shares transferred to
local authorities. Of these three, only Trencin has to date decided to sell shares to the private sector.
Bratislavskej vodarenskej spolocnosti (BVS), which serves Bratislava, is 59% held by the city council.
BVS aims to invest Sk700m (€17 million) in 2004 on capital projects and serves 750,000 people in
Bratislava and the West of Slovakia. While PSP for BVS has not been ruled out, the city does not
anticipate developments in the near term.
