cultural <strong>and</strong> l<strong>in</strong>guistic presence with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Spanish cont<strong>in</strong>gent <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir native allies<br />

that conquered <strong>the</strong> cont<strong>in</strong>ent <strong>and</strong> whose vocabulary <strong>and</strong> culture have survived <strong>and</strong><br />

thrived <strong>to</strong> this day.
