Normal me would have rolled her eyes, or made a snarky comment. But
nothing was normal about tonight and I was exhausted so I simply obeyed,
walking alongside him to the lobby.
The clerk’s eyes went wide when she saw me looking so disheveled, the
blood on my face was still very much visible even though the jacket hid my
body from the middle of my thighs up to my neck. Maddox didn’t let her
reaction affect him and immediately started talking to her and she finally had
the decency to stop staring at me.
I was suddenly too tired to listen to what they were saying and could
barely think straight, but then the clerk finally turned to me and handed me the
keys.
“Sofia and Valentina Raymond, room 36B.”
