I all but jumped up, ready to get the fuck away from the temptress in front

“I’ll leave you to it, then. Just put the cups on the nightstand when you’re
done, I’ll clean everything in the morning. Good night.” I gave them a small
smile before starting towards the door. I was almost out when Valentina’s
small voice stopped me.
“Wait, Mads!” I turned around and saw both mine and Sofia’s attention
were on the little girl.
Valentina suddenly looked shy, she bit her lips just like she did earlier,
trying to gather the courage to speak.
“What’s up, pretty girl?” I frowned, sharing a worried look with Sofia.
“I—” She put her almost empty cup on the nightstand and started fiddling
with her hands. “Would you… would you sleep with us please? Just tonight.”
“Valentina!” Sofia reprimanded her while I just stood there, stunned. I
didn’t know what to say to that. “That’s inappropriate, Tina, you can’t ask
Maddox things like that.”
Seeing Valentina being chastised pinched my heart, but at the same time, I
agreed with Sofia. Getting as close as I felt to them was dangerous enough, if
anyone found out about how much they’ve come to mean to me, I’d be fucked
and probably taken off the case. Sleeping in the same bed was crossing a
line.
