Maddox was the first guy to ever hold my attention. There were some cute
boys at school, but none of them fascinated me the way the pain in the ass cop
did.
He didn’t say anything and just kissed my stomach. I knew he wasn’t
attracted to me that early on. To be honest, I had never even felt any
confusing vibes coming from him before this whole debacle started. He was
always professional and sometimes even brotherly whenever we met in the
past.
For the longest time we just laid there, cuddling. Maddox peppered kisses
all over my abdomen and I played with his hair, scratching his scalp. I was
so content, so fulfilled and happy.
These were the last moments of peace we’d have before the wreckage I
had made of our lives came back to bite us.
We decided not to shower together because we both knew we wouldn’t
be able to keep our hands off of each other. Maddox went in first, while I
stayed on the bed talking to Valentina on Andrea’s phone.
She cried a little which made me feel like shit, but then she surprised me
by saying everything would be okay. My nine year old sister was the one
trying to reassure me. I didn’t exactly know how I felt about that.
She said Maddox promised her we wouldn’t be separated and that he was
just like me, he always kept his promises.
I had forced myself to swallow the knot forming in my throat and told her
we would be over to get her back from Andrea’s in a couple of hours. I knew
she was in good hands, and she had grown to love Adrianna and Andrea, so
she didn’t mind.
Maddox got out of the bathroom to find me still sitting on his bed, looking
in the distance. He had smacked a quick kiss on my lips before getting
dressed and telling me he’d make us some breakfast before we had to go.
