Conan started crying.

Only his tears were not clear. They were blood red.

Thick red liquid started oozing out of his ears too and at first I couldn’t

believe what I was seeing. Blood seeped from his ears, his eyes, his nose,

and eventually, he started coughing it out of his mouth too.

“Fuck!” I jumped away, shock coursing through my veins as I stared in

stunned stupor.

When it started to wear off, adrenaline settled in and I tried to pull him up

but he couldn’t fucking move. His air supply was completely blocked. He

slumped face first on his desk, blood dripping on it from every orifice on his

face. His body kept on convulsing, like it was fighting whatever substance

was making him that way.

I tried helping him, applying pressure on his chest, his ears, anything, but I

didn't even know what was causing the bleeding. He just kept on thrashing

about while losing what seemed like gallons upon gallons of blood. I

watched powerlessly as life slowly and painfully left his body.

My own was in locked shock, after years on the force, this was the first

time I witnessed anything like that. Heart beating fast and bloody hands

trembling, I grabbed my phone to call for reinforcements when an earsplitting

scream resounded in the room. I looked up and sure enough, a

shaking Barbra was at the door, staring at Conan’s body which ceased

moving a few seconds ago. His blood was pooling underneath him and the

whole room was silent enough that you could hear it dripping onto the floor.

“Step back! Get back to your desk, nobody is leaving the premises until

further order!” She nodded, clearly panicking as she ran back to her desk.

Approaching Conan, I pushed two fingers against his bloody neck and

closed my eyes in defeat when I couldn’t feel his pulse.

Fuck, fuck, fuck. What happened?
