“Mads, I want to wallow!”
A smile split my face because the scene was honestly comical, but then
Maddox caught me and I remembered I was supposed to be angry at him so I
wiped the smile right off my lips.
Still, he seemed to find it amusing and smirked at me. Beautiful bastard.
“Nope. You’re gonna change into some comfy clothes and we’ll go out
tonight, just the three of us.”
He straightened her up so she could look at us and she did. She seemed
like she wanted to go but also like going would be admitting defeat.
Eventually, she rolled her eyes— the little minx was looking like me a little
more everyday, and shrugged.
She tried to play it cool but I could see she was excited to go. She was
the one who actually talked our ears off about the new arcade in town. A
bunch of kids from her school hung out there on the weekends and they made
it sound so cool Valentina was really excited about trying it.
“Fine. I guess I can wallow when we get back from the arcade.”
Like hell she would.
