Jack Raymond, beloved husband, father and mayor.
Marcela Raymond, beloved wife and mother.
The words mocked me as I stared them down. They pissed me off
because nobody suspected a single thing those fuckers were capable of. No
one knew what truly was going on inside our house of horror. To them, our
family lived a dream life, while in reality, a nightmare was more akin to our
everyday routine.
“We’ll wait for you in the car. Find me if you need anything, okay?”
Maddox’s voice got me out of my thoughts and I simply nodded as he
grabbed my sister’s hand and started walking to his car. Valentina looked
back at me and I sent her a small, knowing smile.
This was the last stop before we could finally start the life we’ve always
wanted. The life we deserved.
I ended up being glad she had assisted to the funeral. I knew seeing the
monsters who took so much from us finally being put into the ground would
bring her closure, make her understand there was no way they were ever
coming back.
I was alone. The guests were all on their way to the reception. Maddox
