Adjust Iris Open Stop (Short Method Continued)<br />

1. Select the AUTO FLUORO mode and verify TECH LOCK is OFF.<br />

2. Tape 1 copper filter on the bottom of the collimator to ensure it covers the entire Xray<br />

beam.<br />

3. Loosen the set screw on the open iris stop as shown in Figure 33.<br />

4. While making an exposure, turn the gears to adjust the iris (open or closed) until the<br />

generator tracks to 60 kV.<br />

5. Carefully swing the open iris stop against the stop pin. Tighten the set screw to 10<br />

inch/lbs (about 60° of twist in Bristol driver). DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE SET<br />

SCREW.<br />

6. Check the gears to ensure they move easily.<br />

7. Verify tracking with copper filters as follows:<br />

1 copper filter = 60kV ± 3kV<br />

2 copper filters = 70kV ± 3kV<br />

3 copper filters = 78kV ± 3kV
