Abstract
This investigation is a requirement for the Master‘s Degree in English-Spanish
Translation at the Universidad Nacional, Costa Rica. Its content reflects the possibility
of designing a process that will allow translators, in their roles as evaluators of their own
translations or from others, to analyze translation quality of literary Works objectively.
This will be applied to texts of a universal character such as Le Petit Prince 2 of Antoine
de Saint-Exupéry that are sender-oriented. This process may be fulfilled through a
comparative analysis of translated texts of the tale in two different languages based on
the theory about textual comparison as a tool to evaluate translation quality. It uses as a
reference syntactic, pragmatic and stylistics elements, to create a guide for translators
when working with translations to several languages in this literary genre.
Key words: literary translation, stylistics, pragmatics, linguistics, adaptation, quality,
subjective judgment.
