The course is envisaged for the students in the professional study programme „The Latvian Language and
Literature Teacher af Secondary Education”. The course provides an insight inte the problems of various
models of bilingualism in the world, world experience in bilingual education, the models selected by
school of Latvia and their experience in the impamentation of a bilingual education. A special empohaxis
is laid on communicative and functional approach in bilingual studies, on the role of applying active
methods and vizualisation. The course also develops students’ understanding of psychological and
pedagogical aspects of evaluation.
