The State of Bremen and its adjoining region has around
2,000 companies in the logistics branch, including big
names such as Kühne+Nagel, DB Schenker, Fiege or Hellmann
as well as medium-sized logistics firms and forwarders
such as Leschaco, Röhlig, Reimer or EKB. They
work primarily for big industry that needs a large number
of logistics services for the production and distribution
of its finished goods on the German and international
markets. Such companies include food producers such as
KELLOGG, Mondelez (formerly Kraft Foods: Jacobs coffee,
Milka, Philadelphia) and Melitta, as well as Airbus, Daimler,
satellite specialist OHB and Bremerhaven’s wind energy

Germany’s Number One: the GVZ
Many logistics companies have settled in the GVZ (freight
village) at Neustädter Hafen on the left bank of the Weser.
The GVZ is a kind of special commercial estate, primarily
for forwarders and service providers in the logistics branch
