Die Entwicklung des Bereiches Alter/Neuer Hafen bildet
seit 1999 den Schwerpunkt der BEAN. Seitdem sind touristische
Attraktionen entstanden wie das Klimahaus®, das
Deutsche Auswandererhaus, das Deutsche Schiffahrts -
museum sowie der Zoo am Meer. Im Gebiet Neuer Hafen
entstehen seit einigen Jahren hochwertige Wohnungen.
Eigene Liegenschaften der BEAN sind das Klimahaus®, das
Deutsche Auswandererhaus, die Schleuse Neuer Hafen,
die Klappbrücken an der H.-H.-Meier-Straße (denkmal -
geschützt), die Drehbrücke Alter Hafen, die Wasserflächen
und der öffentliche Außenraum im Bereich Alter/Neuer
Hafen sowie der Museumshafen.
Auf der Luneplate (rechtes Bild) entwickelt und erschließt
die BEAN auf einer Fläche von ca. 170 Hektar ein speziell
auf die Belange der Offshore-Windkraftindustrie zugeschnittenes
Gebiet, das eine direkte Anbindung an den
geplanten Schwerlasthafen „Offshore Terminal Bremer -
haven“ haben wird.

Since 1999, the development society BEAN has focused
on the development of Bremerhaven’s Old and New
Harbours. In the meantime, a whole number of tourist
attractions have emerged, such as the Klimahaus®, the
German Emigration Centre, the German Maritime Museum
and the zoo by the sea. For several years now, work has
also been in progress to construct top quality apartments
in the New Harbour.
Some of the premises under the auspices of the BEAN
include the Klimahaus®, the German Emigration Centre,
the New Harbour lock, the bascule bridges at H.-H.-Meier-
Strasse (under a preservation order) the Old Harbour
swing bridge, the areas of water in the port and the public
open-air spaces in the Old and New Harbours, together
with the Maritime Museum.
On the Luneplate (shown on the right), BEAN is working
at the development of a special area covering approx. 170
hectares that will be dedicated to the needs of the offshore
wind power industry with a direct link to the planned
heavy-load port “Offshore Terminal Bremerhaven”.
