Bremen hat für KELLOGG, dem führenden Hersteller für
Frühstückscerealien, eine zentrale Bedeutung. Von hier
aus werden nicht nur die drei deutschsprachigen Märkte
gesteuert: Seit 50 Jahren produziert das KELLOGG-Werk
in der Überseestadt qualitativ hochwertige Getreideprodukte.
Aus ausgesuchten Rohstoffen werden KELLOGG’S®
Corn Flakes, Frosties®, Special K® und andere Markenprodukte
für mehr als 50 Länder in Europa, den Mittleren
Osten und Afrika hergestellt. Dabei ist das Werk weltweit
der einzige KELLOGG-Standort, der eine Anbindung per
Lkw, Bahn und Schiff bietet. Etwa die Hälfte der eingesetzten
Rohwaren gelangt umweltfreundlich auf dem Seeweg
nach Bremen, während die Außenlager in Österreich und
der Schweiz per Bahn mit Fertigware beliefert werden.
Große Anstrengungen unternimmt das Bremer Werk auch
bei der Müllvermeidung, der Rohwarenausnutzung und
bei der Steigerung der Energieeffizienz. Das Werk beschäftigt
etwa 300 Mitarbeiter. Jährlich werden Auszubildende
als Fachkräfte für Lebensmitteltechnik, Elektroniker für
Betriebstechnik und Industriemechaniker eingestellt.

Bremen is of central significance for KELLOGG, the leading
manufacturer of breakfast cereals. Here in Überseestadt,
the KELLOGG factory has been producing top quality
cereal products for 50 years, with responsibility for more
than just the three German-speaking markets. Work ing
with selected raw materials, KELLOGG’S® Corn Flakes,
Frosties®, Special K® and other brand products are manufactured
here for more than 50 countries in Europe, the
Middle East and Africa. The factory is the only KELLOGG’s
site in the world to offer the infrastructure for road, rail and
ship transport. About half of the raw mate rials are brought
to Bremen by environmentally friendly sea transport, while
finished goods are sent by rail to the remote warehouses
in Austria and Switzerland. The Bremen factory also makes
great efforts in terms of preventing waste, making full use
of the raw materials and enhancing energy efficiency.
The factory has a workforce of about 300 employees. Every
year, trainees are taken on to become skilled workers in
food technology and as electronics technicians for industrial
engineering or industrial mechanics.
