In Bremen sind einige der wichtigsten medizinischen
Forschungsinstitute ansässig.
Bremen is home to some of the most important
medical research institutes.
free clinics Diako Ev. Diakonie hospital, St. Joseph-Stift
hospital, Roland clinic and the Red Cross hospital. The
individual hospitals and clinics have their own special
medical profiles. High cardiological expertise is to be
found for example in Bremen Heart Centre in the south
Bremen has another facility of national significance – the
Neurological Rehabilitation Centre of the Friedehorst
Foundation. It helps children, youngsters and young adults
who have suffered a stroke for example, to find their way
back into life, to the family, school or work.
of Bremen, together with various initiatives involved in
Bremen’s Nursing Offensive or Bremen’s State Dementia
Initiative (LinDe).
by introducing degree courses in nursing sciences and
public health sciences or health and medical law. In addition,
Bremen University of Applied Sciences offers the
international degree course in care and health management.
Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences offers a
degree course in medical technology in cooperation with
Reinkenheide clinic, a teaching hospital under the University
of Göttingen. Moreover, the state recognized Apollon
University of Health Management, founded in 2005, is set-
