the federal state of Bremen. The Bremen mail sorting office
deals every day with up to 1.5 million outgoing consignments
and 700,000 incoming consignments for the
post code regions 27 and 28. The number of parcels handled
by Bremen parcel centre has meanwhile nearly reach -
ed 190,000 consignments. Deutsche Post offers a wide
range of products and services in around 140 points of
sale, including postage stamps, registered letters or DHL
parcel stamps. Over the last 20 years, the company has
maintained its widespread presence by advocating partnership
with the local retail sector and the major partner
Postbank. Customers benefit from the generous opening
hours in the branches and from the renewed customer
proximity through the clear increase in points of sale in
the last five years alone. Before the end of 2013, a further
10,000 sites are to be added to the number of parcel re -
ceiving stations for private parcel post in Germany. Selfservice
facilities such as parcel stations, parcel boxes and
mail boxes round off the range provided.
