Abstract
Fragstellung: The use of hamstringS tendons (StG) is more popular in the reconstruction of the ACL and
increased attention to the morbidity of the donor site region and the opportunity to come to a complete
regeneration after resection of full-length and thickness of tendons seems to be a wonderful appearance
AGA2012-154
Examine the regenerative potential of the tendons of gracilis/semitendinosus muscle after preparation for
reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament: morphology, ultrasound and MRI analysis
Methodik: The prospective-retrospective study of 50 patients in whom reconstruction was done with doubled
tendons (StG), analysis was carried out at intervals preoperatively, 1, 3, 6, 12, and 18 months after reconstruction
with a query about: ECHO tissue character at the level of anatomic insertion StG; position after the end of the
regeneration; tendon cyclic response compared to the opposite side of the dynamic, flexion maneuver;
morphological status of the scar or amorphous tissue. MRI has been used as an additional method to confirm the
findings.
Ergebnis: After a month there is an irregular hipoechogenic anatomical structures in the area of insertion, which
intensified after 2 months of operation, a uniform structure of the tendon can be observed after six months with
clear boundaries and reducing the thickness and width after one year; 18 months after resection there is a
structure that is very similar to normal tendon in the area 3 cm proximal from the pes anserinusa; morphological
analysis showed that properly oriented collagen fibers and cells similar to tenocites and flexion dynamic response
was 80% of the activities under the control limb.
Schlussfolgerung: Detection of regenerative potential, morphological and functional characteristics, providing a
new image to ACL reconstruction technique with StG, and additional tests will provide new insights and possible
reuse of regenerative tendon ("neotendon")
