Dr.-Ing. Peter Heisig is Senior Research Fellow at <strong>the</strong> Leeds University
Business School and visiting researcher at <strong>the</strong> Engineering Design Centre at
Cambridge University. Since 1988 he works in <strong>the</strong> area <strong>of</strong> Knowledge
Management and has been responsible for several KM projects in industry (e.g.
Siemens, Volkswagen), public administration (e.g. Police, Ministry) and
research organizations (e.g. Fraunh<strong>of</strong>er). Peter served as KM-Expert to <strong>the</strong> EU
and CEN („<strong>European</strong> Guide to Good Practice in Knowledge Management“, CWA
14924). He is a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> VDI KM Working Group and <strong>of</strong> German
Knowledge Management Society (GfWM), <strong>the</strong> Design Society and INCOSE
Dr. Mag Claudia Thurner-Scheuerer studied Business Administration with
Erasmus period abroad and Doctoral Studies in Social and Economic Sciences at
Karl-Franzens-University Graz. Since 2003 in <strong>the</strong> interdisciplinary field <strong>of</strong>
Knowledge Management. 2008 completion <strong>of</strong> her dissertation. Since 2007 she is
<strong>the</strong> community manager <strong>of</strong> Plattform Wissensmanagement, <strong>the</strong> largest KMcommunity
in <strong>the</strong> German-speaking area and is working for Know-Center, Austria's
competence center for knowledge management.
Dr. Mag Alexander Stocker studied business Administration at <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> Graz
and at Graz, Technical University. He has been Dealing with computer-based
information systems for more than ten years. Currently he is senior researcher at <strong>the</strong>
Institute DIGITAL, JOANNEUM RESEARCH.
Dr. Dipl.-Kfm Alexander Richter studied Business Administration at <strong>the</strong>
Universities <strong>of</strong> Augsburg and Rennes. As a research assistant at <strong>the</strong> Cooperation
Systems Center Munich (Pr<strong>of</strong>. Michael Koch) at <strong>the</strong> Bundeswehr University
Munich he observes with great interest <strong>the</strong> adoption <strong>of</strong> Social S<strong>of</strong>tware in various
German and international companies.
Dr Paulette DeGard serves as a Vice President <strong>of</strong> West Coast Operations for
ProCarta, a process/knowledge management capture tool. Her responsibilities include
creating products that capture business processes for government, financial
institutions, medical practices and real estate. Paulette has also worked with <strong>the</strong> US
Navy and The Boeing Company as well as numerous Fortune 500 companies around
North America conducting knowledge management, process management and
s<strong>of</strong>tware deployments. Additionally, Paulette started a management training school in
nor<strong>the</strong>rn Poland, worked on <strong>the</strong> world's largest re-engineering project at Boeing, and
created a knowledge transfer method to keep 40,000 end-users informed about s<strong>of</strong>tware changes.
Selvi Kannan is a lecturer, researcher and advisory consultant. She has over
twenty years prior experience at senior management level in both <strong>the</strong> private and
public sector internationally, managing change in a variety <strong>of</strong> specialized areas
including; Knowledge Management & Learning in Organizations, Workplace
Diversity and Organizational Culture and Mentoring and Coaching Business
Executives.
