Objective: What to obtain <strong>the</strong> final result <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> transfer process described with what I transfer? (<strong>the</strong>
subject) and why I'm going to transfer? (purpose).
Scope: determines <strong>the</strong> depth reached by <strong>the</strong> transfer process, to identify you should locate <strong>the</strong> type
<strong>of</strong> knowledge or agreement subject to <strong>the</strong> following definitions:
Theoretical knowledge: generally classified as ei<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>oretical or conceptual minimum
knowledge needed to run a practice, this is easily transferred and can be encoded on a physical
medium such as a manual, a standard document or presentation, <strong>the</strong>refore classified as
knowledge explicit when it is moved can be reached at induction and training.
Ability: <strong>the</strong> ability to perform an activity or a practice run efficiently, it is largely tacit but a portion
<strong>of</strong> this is likely to be transferred through training, so it is classified as implicit knowledge, how to
develop it is through learning by doing and <strong>the</strong> level <strong>of</strong> coverage is training.
Experience: is <strong>the</strong> knowledge that has been developed by <strong>the</strong> implementation <strong>of</strong> a practice over
time, this knowledge is not easily transferred to what is classified as tacit knowledge and how to
develop it is through learning by doing and a partner process. To get to transfer an experience
may be required prior induction and training.
The Figure No.7 is an aid in identifying <strong>the</strong> scope given <strong>the</strong> type <strong>of</strong> knowledge transfer, place it in <strong>the</strong>
appropriate column and will determine <strong>the</strong> classification <strong>of</strong> knowledge and <strong>the</strong> minimum scope <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>
work program. Note that <strong>the</strong> skill development implicates induction and training, and experience
development implicates induction, training and support.
